"From Waiting to Wonder: My Hospital Journey."
Finally, after a month of anticipation, I found myself admitted to the hospital. But there was a twist. My symptoms had already started to reverse on their own, leaving me puzzled.
The journey began with neck pain and muscle weakness in my right hand, which could have been addressed sooner.
Is this the end of the story? Not at all. There's more to tell, but that's a tale for next time. Stay tuned! 😉🏥
Text from the Video:
PART ONE:
Intro…
Hey everyone!
This time my video will be rather short, compared to the rest - the character you're about to meet wasn't very complex.
Nevertheless, it fits in perfectly with the next chapter of my story, as too much didn't happen in it... Well, maybe in terms of quantity.
PART TWO:
Long-awaited help…
Finally! At last!
I was admitted to the hospital, after a month of waiting…
But, wait a moment... There is one problem. The first of my symptoms started to slowly reverse themselves… Imagine, how I felt…
I won't tell you exactly what it looked like, mainly because my memory of that time has significantly faded, and as previously mentioned, that entire month remains quite hazy for me. I had to read my discharge from the hospital to make the connection that, yes, things did indeed start to improve before I was admitted, all by themselves - even though they were not good.
And how did it start? With the neck pain and muscle weakness in my right hand, this could have been dealt with quickly, rather than waiting and multiplying problems.
However, I'll leave it to you to consider just how much sense it all seemed to make...
Anyway, I turned up in the hospital at the appointed time and this time no one kicked me in the ass. However, I had to wait my turn, you know, procedures and stuff.
The doctor partially relied on the information collected previously, which came at my own expense (and here is a small correction to this video above - I had done an MRI of my neck, but outside the hospital - without paying for an uncomfortable bed and poor food, as if it were a 3-star hotel - and the examination showed an inflamated area at a level of C3 - C4 of my spine, on the right side, and extensive swelling spanning from C2 to C5).
In addition, an MRI of my brain was conducted, revealing some additional areas of inflammatory foci in the subcortical white matter and periventricular areas of the frontal and parietal lobes... fortunately, that was all - no further issues were identified.
Immediately after the MRI and a few other tests, and of course, after receiving the results, treatment began. For 3 days in a row, I was given 500 mg of Solu-Medrol in the form of a half-litre IV - one for each day. Such high doses of this steroid are typically administered when symptoms are particularly severe - you can find a link to the Wikipedia page with more information in the description below.
Looking at the discharge form (although you can't quite believe it, as I see a couple of obvious errors here xD), I left the hospital still experiencing numbness in my limbs, especially on the right side. Yet, as per the same discharge, "the patient left the hospital in a general, good condition"... Well, I suppose you could say that. More or less…
All in all, it took a total of two months before I was able to return to work, counting from the very start of my symptoms to finish when I was feeling good enough. Two months full of unexpected complications and expenses.
So is this the end of the story? Not at all... But that's for the next time ;)
PART THREE:
CH05 - Demon Lord…
Neste... Is that the pretty face in the front who seems to have the demon behind as her servant?
Nope...
Basically, that pretty face is just a shell for that demon, a way to hide, in plain sight.
So this is my Demon Lord's BIO:
Neste was, a very long time ago, one of the Lords, among the demonic race. He was neither the strongest nor the weakest of them. He had ambitions, which eventually led to his downfall and to his imprisonment by a group of dragons with whom he had clashed in those distant times...
It took at least three centuries before he slowly began to regain his freedom, since some of the creators of his prison had died - some due to wounds suffered in battle with Neste. Then the demon created his alter-ego and began his plotting, not only to take revenge on those who had stripped him of his power and influence, but also on the entire dragon race.
The complete description can be found on my Artstation challenge page; you'll find the link in the description below. And with your support, it might also make its way here, on the screen in the future.
PART FOUR:
On the screen…
As I look at this sketch now, I come to the conclusion that it was probably the simplest of this group - counting both characters and creatures. At the same time, it is also an interesting phenomenon; after all, the character is a demon, so can it be called a character or rather a creature? Somehow now I'm wondering what it is after all? I suppose it depends on the interpretation... as is so often the case.
Anyway, I felt like doing something different, and at the same time, I was keen to create a character that looked shifty and mean on a good day. I believe it turned out quite well, wouldn't you agree?
As always, I'd love your feedback on what I do. Not just on the graphic side, but also about the story I share...
PART FIVE:
We…
I realise that it's not easy to speak up on the subject of chronic illnesses - it's often hard to open up or show support in an open way, on any topic. The world we live in teaches us anonymity, we hide behind nicknames, avatars, makeup, and heavy retouching, on top of this now comes AI in all its forms.
At the moment, however, I hope that we will still learn to talk to each other more, that we will learn to support and trust each other more, and that we will be able to trust our promises at all.
Therefore, I have a small request for you. Think of someone who could use your kind word right now and say it. Say it out loud.
Until the next time, stay safe. Bye.
PART SIX:
Just in case...
